Shooting style - from landscapes, cityscapes, macros, portraits. I am mistaken - I don't have the 45mm, i have the 55mm.I am just giving 645 SLRs a thought as they seem to be still relatively hand holdable (with decently damped mirror) with a TTL prism. I would not mind looking at your sharpest 45mm image. If you want any specific examples of the 120 or 45 let me know. The 35mm distagon would be a great lens (super sharp). I have owned the hartblei super rotator and would not recommend it unless you obviously want to do tilt/shift work (its fun, but just didn't get much use out of it). this was stopped down to like f/22 I think That 120 is by far the 's like a surgical instrument. I currently own the Zeiss Distagon 45 (it's sharp), 120 Makro (it's insanely sharp) and the 210 (very nice as well). I think the 35mm is universally acclaimed but what about the others. Have you had any experience with any of the following other than the 80mm? I am interested in sharpness across the frame at the widest aperture possible (not necessarily looking for sharpness wide open unless.). Steel Chen gave me his opinion on three lenses he thought were sharp wide open. I posted the following list on the Adapted Lens forum and got no response. I am using some Pentax 645 lenses but would like to explore other brands. I'd like to extend my lens lineup via adapted lenses. Steel Chen is developing a Contax 645 AF adapter for the GFX 50s.

I can't address your question but I have one for you if you don't mind. Guessing I am missing something fundamental beyond the sensor resolution. The question is: with the D850 (46MP) being released soon, what are thoughts on Image Quality between this lens on D850 (46MP 35mm Full Frame) vs same resolution on MF digi back? I did shoot with a Aptus 75 at one point and it was 6666*4992 = 35MP. I miss the medium format magic though, and am considering buying a Contax body again just to shoot this again in its full glory. I have since sold the Contax body and have used the lens on my (aging) DSLR (12 MP). I LOVE the 80mm and was reason I got into the Contax system to begin with. I have a Contax 80mm f/2 lens which I have used on both a Contax 645 as well as my Nikon D700 (via a Nikon F mount "JAS" autofocus adapter from steel chen).
